Background

Jobs Fraser Coast was formed from the Fraser Coast Regional Advisory Group in May 2018.

Established in September 2017, the role of the Fraser Coast Regional Advisory Group was to lead the development of the Fraser Coast Regional Workforce Plan following the Growing Opportunities in the Fraser Coast: Informing Regional Workforce Development  report.

Initial advisory group members include the three Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Council, local University, Regional Development Australia, TAFE, Regional Tourism Organisation, Agriculture, Health, Community, NDS and Manufacturing industries.

The members worked in a spirit of collaboration, respectfully and in good faith for the advancement of the Fraser Coast region.  It is intended that these same principles will continue to be displayed and embedded into Jobs Fraser Coast activities.

What we do

Jobs Fraser Coast works with local, regional, state and commonwealth partners to:

  • Plan for the future through proactive monitoring of industry trends and identifying upskilling and reskilling opportunities through education and training.
  • Advocate for investment in training and skills that aligns to regional jobs and employment growth.
  • Drive and build the footprint, skills and connection to education pathways to ensure a job ready workforce.
  • Leverage and coordinate existing local resources and assets to enable skills development within the region.
  • Partner with those who are working to bring investment to the Fraser Coast, demonstrating our commitment to thinking about the job and skill requirements to secure the investment.
  • Advocate to build sustainability through building existing workforce resilience and flexibility, to meet the moving skills needs across industry.

Scott brings 15 years of local experience and an economic development perspective to his role as Jobs Fraser Coast Chair. He has strong community connections, board experience, and is currently tasked with regional job creation and regional competitive analysis.

Graham has overall responsibility for USC's Fraser Coast and Gympie campuses, and their Noosa study hub. Prior to taking on his role at USC, he was Associate Director and Lecturer in the Business program at the University of Southern Queensland's Fraser Coast campus. In addition to his 10+ years in the tertiary sector, Graham has over 25 years of experience working across senior management, technical and sales roles in the information technology industry, has owned his own small to medium enterprise, and taught Science and Maths in the secondary school sector.

Ana leads a multi-campus, multi-disciplined education and training organisation, offering qualifications and skill sets to over 12,000 students annually. With 27 years of experience in the VET sector in Far North Queensland, Sunshine Coast and Wide Bay Burnett, Ana has in-depth knowledge of the challenges and opportunities for regional Queensland in a rapidly changing socio-economic landscape. Prior to her current role, Ana held the role of Executive Director Education and Training with an earlier role at TAFE North as Chief Financial Officer and Director of Corporate Services.

Louise brings experience in policy, strategy, stakeholder engagement, local government, economic development and community services to her role on the board of Jobs Fraser Coast. She is an experienced board and committee member and has been both an employee and owner/operator in small to medium enterprises across industry sectors including services, tourism, manufacturing and retail.

Melinda brings extensive local knowledge of the disability and skill development sectors to her role on the board of Jobs Fraser Coast. Her past experience includes working in management within the community service sector and she has a degree in Public Health (Health Promotion).

Sandra brings over 25 years commercial business experience to her role on Jobs Fraser Coast. She has extensive networks in Fraser Coast business, health and community sectors, and has the ability to combine financial acumen, commercial experience and community service to focus strategically on economic drivers such as human capital, productivity, entrepreneurialism, business clustering, financial capital and trade specialisation.

Jobs Queensland

Leticia, in partnership with industry leaders, regions and communities, leads the development of Jobs Queensland’s workforce planning and development projects, with a particular focus on industry and place based approaches.
She brings broad experience in workforce planning, strategic and business planning, project management, board governance and management, financial management and stakeholder engagement to her role on Jobs Fraser Coast. She has worked across a number of industries including not for profit, disability services, energy, utilities sector, hospital and health services, financial services, commercial laboratory operations, local government and state government environment.
